Now that in-person events have officially returned to their former glory, your calendar is probably filling up fast with social outings, networking opportunities, and content marketing events. We’re finally free again to get off Zoom and get back to creating more impactful connections with people in-person. But we’ve grown to love aspects of virtual conferences, so a great deal of upcoming events have an online component as well.

If you’re looking for professional development opportunities or a deep dive on the content marketing best practices to apply to your brand, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve compiled a list of the best content marketing events for you. Or if you realized that you need to ramp up your marketing efforts and meet potential customers, these events also represent a great opportunity to participate as a brand sponsor.

Here are 5 best-in-class marketing events to add to your calendar:

INBOUND

INBOUND

  • WHEN: September 6 – 9, 2022
  • WHERE: Boston, Massachusetts
  • *Virtual option available

Yes, this one is right around the corner. But you won’t regret a quick decision to attend this very popular conference hosted by HubSpot. INBOUND is a hybrid conference. So you can attend online, in person, or a combination of both. The virtual portion of the conference takes place from September 7 – 9.

While there are some HubSpot brand-focused sessions, you’ll be sure to find other topics of interest ranging from creating personas to scaling SEO. Attendees rave about the experiences outside the sessions like accelerator groups, parties, and a picturesque outdoor space to meet new friends. And the famous food trucks will be back this year, so you can sample local cuisine while chatting with other content marketers.

Content Marketing World

Content Marketing World

  • WHEN: September 13 – 16, 2022
  • WHERE: Cleveland, Ohio
  • *Virtual option available

This four-day event is a perennial favorite and considered the premier event for networking by many marketers. Not only can you meet people on the exhibitor floor and in sessions, but Content Marketing World offers off-site events —such as numerous happy hours and an opening party at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame — to make connections.

This is considered one of the best content marketing events because it’s jam-packed with sessions on a wide range of niche content marketing topics, ranging from building trust with your target audience to upping your SEO strategy. This year’s keynote speech by Hasan Minhaj, from Homecoming King on Netflix, is sure to be a highlight.

And we’ll be there too! Be sure to stop by Booth #621 and our happy hour to say hi. Plus if you can’t make it in-person, you can catch virtual sessions from September 21 – 22. Check out our full list of the can’t-miss sessions this year.

DigiMarCon

DigiMarCon offers something for everyone. The conference leaves attendees feeling inspired, transformed, and challenged. Instead of a single event, the conference is held in locations around the globe and offers several virtual events too. And if you want to combine vacation with professional development, then look into their cruise this fall.

Some locations for 2023 have already been released. With events in Dallas, Tennessee, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, you’ll likely find one within driving distance. While each event varies in topics and speakers, the sessions and keynotes typically cover a wide range, from account-based marketing to web analytics.

LavaCon

LavaCon

  • WHEN: October 23 – 26, 2022
  • WHERE: New Orleans, Louisiana
  • *Virtual option available

While many of the conferences on this list address a wide range of topics, LavaCon focuses on one topic in particular — content silos. The programming and sessions at this event aim to help marketers create content that can be shared across the enterprise.

You can choose from more than 50 sessions and hands-on workshops, including topics such as leadership, microcontent, and managing hybrid writers. LavaCon offers both an in-person option and a virtual option with recorded sessions that you can watch anytime. And since you are in New Orleans, there is plenty of fun to be had, starting with watching the Krewe of Boo! Halloween parade at the opening cocktail party.

Content Marketing Conference

Content Marketing Conference

  • WHEN: November 9 – 11, 2022
  • WHERE: Local-Live
  • *Virtual option available

Content Marketing Conference (CMC) 2022 offers the best features of both a virtual and an in-person conference. You can purchase a three-day access ticket or 365-day access ticket. As an added bonus, if you purchase a local-live ticket, you can attend an in-person workshop and keynotes on November 10 at venues around the globe. Sessions include expert storytelling from professionals like Neal Schaffer and Tyler Lessard. And the keynotes are guaranteed to inspire you.

As a previous attendee, I still think about lessons I learned from a session led by Andy Crestodina years ago whenever my content feels stale. And I’ve heard rave reviews from content marketers who have heard Larry Kim of WordStream, who will share his expertise on SEO and keywords in his keynote.

As you can see, these content marketing events provide the best of both worlds: in-person sessions for maximum engagement and networking opportunities, and the option of virtual sessions if you can’t attend in person. That’s why we think these are the best content marketing events for marketers like you.
